The Motorola Moto G6 Play is the watered down version of the Moto G6 midrange smartphone released by Motorola. If you really want to use the Moto G6 and save some cash as well then the Moto G6 Play should do it.
The Play version lost one of its dual rear cameras with a massive battery capacity, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space, there’s a cheaper variant with lesser storage as well. Without further ado, meet the Moto G6 Play
Motorola Moto G6 Play Key Specs and Features
・5.7-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 720 x 1440 pixels
・Android 8.0 Oreo with 2GB/3GB RAM
・Octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430
・16GB/32GB built-in storage
・13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera
・4000mAh non-removable Li-Ion Battery
Still looks like the Moto G6 and at first glance, we can see there’s a single rear camera here. This means if you really want to use the dual rear camera then you have to get its siblings. The Aluminium framed body still looks radiant as ever.
Furthermore, the single camera sits in the middle with the LED flash underneath, all on top of the foundation. Unlike its siblings, the Motorola logo doubles as the fingerprint scanner at the back. Measuring 9mm in thickness and weighing 175g overall. It’s available in Deep Indigo, Silver, Flash Gray and Gold colours.
It Sports the same trending bezel-less display just like it’s siblings, an 18:9 aspect ratio that’s quite stunning. Only the Motorola logo is visible at the bottom bezel at this time, the physical home button has been removed. While the top can be seen housing the usual features.
The 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen has a trimmed down resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. With 282 pixels per inch density, everything on the screen should be visible no doubt. But don’t expect this to look like the ones on its siblings. Nonetheless, the screen stretches up to 75.2% screen to body ratio.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
It houses a slower Snapdragon 430 chip from Qualcomm with 8-cores processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The Octa-core processor here reaches a clock speed of 1.4 GHz with 28nm process technology. The Adreno 505 graphics processor from Qualcomm manages graphics.
There are two variants here in terms of RAM and storage space, there’s a standard version with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. While those on a budget can easily get the cheaper variant with 16GB storage and 2GB of RAM as well. The Motorola Moto G6 Play runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
At the rear, there’s a single 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12µm pixel size. Apart from coming with a LED flash, it has phase detection autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and the rest. Record video 1080 pixels at 30fps, while the 8MP selfie camera comes with a LED flash as well.
The Motorola Moto G6 Play is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
